The 2022 ISA Calgary Show presented an enhanced experience featuring the best automation experts showcasing the latest advancements, technologies, and innovations from a wide variety of exhibiting companies and speakers. This year’s event incorporated a two-day technical conference, a knowledge bar featuring professional speakers and a comprehensive exhibition.

This year’s conference featured four impressive keynote speakers, and over 30 presenters over the two busy days.

Memorable attendees include Dr. Roberta Bondar, Astronaut, Physician, Scientist and Photographer, who is globally recognized for her pioneering contribution to space medicine research, fine art photography, and environmental education, and Chris Mathers, Crime, Terrorism and Security Expert, who spent most of his life working undercover for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, US Drug Enforcement Administration, and the US Customs Service.

Working with Inside Education, 50 students aged 14-15 joined a small session with Dr. Bondar, which gave the opportunity to ask questions and get insights of her impressive work contributing to multiple fields.

Two features of the conference included the invigorating panel discussions – Panel: Automation and the Energy Transition featuring Spartan Controls, Imperial, Alberta Innovates, Westgen Technologies and Exergy Solutions, and Panel: Challenges and Benefits of Automating Industrial Cybersecurity featuring Fortinet, Suncor, Ammolite Analytx and Microsoft Canada.

Throughout the exhibition floor, over 50 exhibitors demonstrated the latest technology and innovation to over 1500 attendees. A key feature returned by popular demand – the knowledge bar – which featured 10 presentations giving attendees an intimate setting to learn from leading industry experts.
