First off, I'd like to thank Susan Rathgeber for her dedicated service as ISA Calgary Section Administrator, she retired in June after 24 years of service. Susan, you will be missed and we wish you the very best. With that, I'm pleased to welcome Melissa Gagyi, referred by yours truly (thanks again Susan), who will be filling her shoes.
Automation is all around us and in a perpetual state of development - from the digital devices that we carry, to smart homes, to business operations and complex industrial processes. With the advancement in machine learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Operational Technology (OT), society has found itself in a fast paced technological revolution where automation shines - and will only become more flexible, sustainable and resilient in the times to come.
When it comes to my presidency, I want to be remembered for embracing change from both an organization and industry standpoint. Additionally, for supporting the ISA Calgary Section's continued growth (while fostering stability), in line with ISA Global's vision and core values.
What inspired me to become President?
I have been an active member of ISA since 2017. In the recent few years I have had the privilege of holding various positions within ISA Calgary section, including Membership Co-Chair, Secretary, most recently, Treasurer. These roles have allowed me to gain a deep understanding of our organization and its goals. I am keen to serve as President for the current year...
My Presidential Goals?
- Working very closely with our Executive Committee and volunteers to continue successful contributions of the ISA Calgary Section.
- Promoting ISA’s value proposition.
- Increased opportunities for member engagement.
- Drive Section’s membership growth.
- Strengthen internal processes and systems to reduce key person dependency simultaneously making transitions easier and more systematic for future Boards.
- Maintain a sustainable financial position to support all efforts.
I firmly believe that our section is only as strong as its members. Your involvement, enthusiasm, and engagement are vital to our collective success. I encourage you to actively participate in section meetings, monthly Technical Talks, volunteer committees, and to consider joining the executive committee in the future. Together, we can shape the future of the ISA Calgary Section and make a lasting impact on our automation community.
I invite you to stay connected with the ISA Calgary Section by visiting this website, following us on LinkedIn, and through ISA Connect.
