I'd like to thank the ISA as a whole for inspiring my presidential journey, and the ISA Calgary Section for electing me. My inspiration to serve comes from a deep passion for industrial automation and a strong commitment to the automation community that has shaped my career.
After moving to Canada over a decade ago, I became a member of the ISA Calgary Section and for the past three years have been actively involved in various board positions. The resources, training, and community I found through ISA have played a defining role in shaping my career, and today, I am grateful for the chance to give back to the organization that has given me so much.
On the top of my agenda is strengthening our Section through connection. How do I plan to do this?
- First, it's show time! I invite you to attend the ISA Calgary Section Show that takes place June 9 - 11, 2026 - our long-standing prime opportunity to connect where we'll be exploring the future of automation as it relates to these conference topics: operational technology cybersecurity, automation project management, and new technologies like artificial intelligence and open process automation.
- Next, I'm excited to launch a Mentorship Program in November (thanks Matthew Rebus).
- Additionally, I'm committed to build on Armaghan Yusuf's (Past President) and Greg Potter's (OTCSIG Chair) work by adding an Automation Project Management Special Interest Group (APMSIG) into the mix.
- Finally, our 19th Annual Golf Tournament and Technical Talks are opportune events to network and learn.
Together these will not only create valuable opportunities for knowledge-sharing and networking but also help us grow membership and build a stronger, more connected automation community.
We welcome everyone (member or not) to get involved. Please feel free to reach out anytime, follow us on LinkedIn, or connect with me directly.
